Easy makeup trends from the autumn 2017 runways
More often than not, I’ll see the latest makeup looks on fashion runways and think no one would ever wear that in the real world! Well I stand corrected, this autumn showcased so many looks us mere mortals can wear on a night out. Keep reading to find out my top makeup trends for this Autumn.
Party girl eyeliner: Alexander Wang
Just when we have (finally) mastered a clean crisp black liner, a new look comes along. Introducing… the ‘Party Girl Eyeliner’! It’s less structured, and to be honest, a hell of a lot easier to achieve than a classic black liner.
Get the look by using a kohl eyeliner on the top and bottom lashes, then give it a little smudge round the edges for that ‘I’ve been out dancing all night’ look.
NARS Kohliner ($36) is perfect for the job
The “No Makeup” Look: Lela Rose
Let’s face it, fresh and dewy skin has been all over the catwalk for a while now and it definitely ain’t going anywhere. What’s not to love about glowing skin?… Even if you do have to fake it a little.
Mix NARS Illuminator ($44) in with your liquid foundation for a subtle glow or use on its own for a radiant day time look.
Fresh And Bold: Jason Wu
Bold lips are back! This autumn we are seeing bold, velvety lips paired with fresh, natural looking skin. No need for contouring, false lashes or fancy eyeliner. It’s all about the barely there base and letting your lips be the main focus.
Tip: Cover lips in concealer or foundation to create the perfect canvas to show the true colour of your lipstick.
Jeffree Star Redrum Liquid Lipstick ($28)
Sparkly Doe Eyes: Tadashi Shoji
This 60’s inspired look is all about big eyes with a touch of sparkle. Think Twiggy meets Studio 54. The main focus, for a change, is on the bottom lashes.
Using your black liquid or gel liner, create the look of long bottom lashes with short brush strokes from the lash line, then in between each line dab a little sparkly liner. It’s the perfect look for your next night out.
NYX Glam Liner ($9.95) makes application easy with it’s super fine brush
So no more thinking we can’t try runway looks, here are four fun ones any of us can pull off!
