Haircare for kids
It’s a day I dreaded. A day that has caused me sleepless nights and cold sweats. I knew it was coming, but I wasn’t prepared.
Eva’s hair has grown past forehead length.
Sadly, I am really lazy. So when I go to the hairdressers for myself, I basically just ask them to cut my hair in a way that means I don’t have to blow dry it, or style it, or brush it. I actually don’t think I own a brush.
Since Eva was born, I’ve been wondering what I’ll do when the time comes that I have to do her hair. Apparently, I haven’t thought about it enough, because the day has come, and I have no idea what to do.
So, I did what any genius would do, and I Googled ‘kids’ hairstyles’. Here’s some tips I learnt from the internet:
1. Throw a hat/beanie on it
The main issue with this is that your child might really hate wearing things on their head. There is always the option of gluing it on, but I do feel like that might come back to bite you later.
2. Use cool hair products
Some kids are totally rocking crazy cool hair-dos. If their parents would do my hair, I would look about 10 times cooler than I do currently. In any case, I think things like, ‘washing’ and using products on your hair help achieve those glorious looks.
Oozing coolness is this new range called, Punk Angel: It’s paraben free, petrochemical free, sulphate free and alcohol free!
3. Shave all their hair off
Effective, right? But maybe not the look you’re going for. Also, your child might not like the loud noise of the clippers.
4. Clip it back
There are some really funky looking clips on the internet. I particularly like some of the ones by Seed Heritage. This is a good low maintenance option, but maybe worth buying about 20 clips, because I think Eva would probably lose at least one a day (and by Eva I mostly mean me).
