The Eyebrow Craze: Q & A with Tracie Logan

The excessive plucking days are well and truly over and now it’s all about thick and well framed brows to truly enhance your features. We sit down with brow expert, Tracey Logan from Finishing Touches and ask her all the important questions….

Eyebrows are all the craze now, why do you think there is now an emphasis on having the right brows? 

Brows can actually transform and enhance the look of your overall face, so having the RIGHT brow is a must! These days, there is so much emphasis on stronger eyes and longer, thicker lashes. It is therefore important to complete and enhance the overall look and to have your brows and eyelashes working together.

Why is it so important to find the perfect shape for your eyebrows? Why should we see a professional? How does it enhance your features?

Eyebrows are a prominent part of our face and symmetrical eyebrows improves our overall appearance.  Everyone has unique characteristics; face, nose, eye shapes etc… so it is important to have the right shaped brow to suit your face and enhance your own individual look.

The study of facial morphology, which enables professional design and colour is a specialised area.  It is therefore crucial to have an expert and a high quality service in all areas of this field for you to achieve the safest and best possible outcome for yourself.

Brows frame the face, enhance the eyes and will instantly put definition and youth back into the face naturally.

What does your working day look like?

I see clients daily. I have been working in this field for a long time and always look forward to seeing my old and new clients. Additionally, at every session, I ask my clients to fill out a medical form as it is important for me to know a lot about my clients before I treat them.  I then have a consult with them in which we go through, together, what they are actually looking for, what I would recommend and what would be the best outcome for them.  I will then draw and discuss the colour with them . I make sure they are completely happy before starting the procedure.

What are the different ways that we can enhance our brows?

There are many ways now to enhance your brows.  Firstly, there is ‘Micro blading’ or ‘Cosmetic Tattooing’ in which we can carefully implant pigment into the area of missing hair, either with hair like strokes or by giving it a fuller colour. This will give a longer, sharper look to your brows but still look natural.

If you have strong, full brows already, we can re-shape them by tweezing, waxing or tinting to give them fuller shape and definition.

Additionally, if you are not sure if Tattooing is right for you yet, you can shape and Henna your brows.  This is a totally natural product which stains the hair and skin while giving you a lasting effect as well as preparing you before tattooing.

What do you find most rewarding about your job?

I have worked in the beauty industry for over 25 yrs and  have always been deeply passionate about helping people feel good about themselves.  So with my expertise in this field, my procedures can restore both appearance and self esteem.  This brings a lot of satisfaction not only to my client but also to myself.
