Trend Alert: 1970’s Disco Fashion
One look that I’m really into right now takes you way back..a few decades to be exact. No, I’m not talking about the 90’s, I’m crushing on that 70’s vibe. Although, I do love a fringe number or gypsy style dress, I’m going to take you through what I think reflects the most fascinating, luxurious and sexy look of the 1970’s – Disco.
There are so many labels that are getting into that 70’s disco feel and I’ve selected some really fun pieces that you can totally wear from the bar to the dance floor.
Starting with this dress from C/MEO Collective; it’s everything 70’s. What I especially love about this piece is the stand up collar and lapel..not to mention the wrap style, the belted waist and in a beautiful orange hue – Love!
Another C/MEO Collective piece are these amazing wide leg pants; worn here with a matching singlet to give a jumpsuit look (minus the inconvenience of one). In a dreamy pale pink, this would be perfect for a night out at the bar.
Next up I have found this stunning number from Princess Polly. This party dress, aptly named the 1977 dress is everything disco with a deep plunge neckline and soft pleats in a shimmering gold fabric.
Another label feeling that 70’s vibe is Missguided. This dress with kimono sleeves and wrap front will flatter any figure and it comes in this beautiful duck egg blue colour. Pair with a metallic heel and you’re all set!
Miss Selfridge have nailed it here with this bodysuit. It’s such a versatile piece as it can be worn with a skirt or wide leg pants. And the cowl neck and chain combo really get that 70’s look happening.
Lastly, you can’t go past a faux fur jacket to round off any vintage inspired outfit. Here’s one from Australian label Unreal Fur which looks and feels every bit the real deal.
Add on pieces:
Merci Perci earrings.
These earring from Melbourne based brand Merci Perci are a great accessory that’ll make any outfit pop! Gold and silver glitter, need I say more?!
Mimco pouch.
Mimco are known for their amazing pouches, just the right size to hold your keys, phone, cards and lippy – perfect! This black and gold one is so sparkly, it’s everything 70’s disco.
ASOS mules.
Mules are a perfect option with any 70’s inspired outfit. This snake skin pair from ASOS are all you need – and are a steal at that price.
Sephora glitter pots.
This look isn’t complete until you pop on some body glitter. Sephora have these face and body glitter pots in gold, rose gold and holographic to enhance your skin tone without looking too glittery. Get glowing!
