Get fashion ready for Portsea Polo
Portsea Polo is just around the corner and it’s one of the biggest highlights for fashionistas at the beginning of every year. It’s right in the middle of summer and everyone has that relaxed, beach vibe going on.
If you don’t know where to start, think dresses, playsuits, wedges (a must), flats and a straw hat. I personally love the traditional ‘all-white’ look, but there are no rules, so go with whatever colour you feel great in. If you are still unsure, it’s most likely going to be a warm day, so pastels and light colours work well.
Below are some styles and tips to help you find that perfect look for the day. I have also included a few long-sleeved options for Melbourne’s unpredictable weather. 😉
Long Sleeves
This gorgeous Coachella Lemon Dress with sheer nude lining has a beautiful flow to it and the lace detailing is so soft. Wear with a tan/nude wedge.
Loving this Silk Organza Dress by Zimmermann. It has fluffy, vine embroidery with a boat neckline and the dropped shoulders are very flattering. The black sateen belt is removable so you can either replace with another belt or remove all together. Team this dress with a black/white wedge if keeping the black belt.
The Playsuit
This little beauty from Seed is sure to be a showstopper. I love the scallop trims and fitted bodice. Team together with a tan wedge.
This soft pink playsuit is a unique, stand out piece, with delicate cascading ruffle details across the shoulder. Pair with a nude wedge.
Prints
This Jolie Drape Flair dress is gorgeous. It’s high around the chest area and then synches at the waist. Pair again with a nude wedge or block heel.
I love the colours and soft print on this playsuit by We Are Kindred. Pair again with a wedge.
Shoes & Accessories
Find a good wedge or block heel to wear at the Polo. Not only do they look great, they are super comfortable like these from Kurt Geiger.
Straw hats are a hit at the polo and will provide that protection from the sun as you will be outdoors for the majority of the day. Love the simplicity of this hat from Kookai.
Tip: Try not to opt for a clutch bag. You don’t want to be burdened with carrying it around all day especially if you have a drink in your other hand. Opt for a bag with a strap instead so that way you can cross it over your body or shoulder. This one is ideal from YSL
See you at the Polo!
