4 unforgettable Hen’s Day ideas (with not a tacky game in sight!)

By  |

Gone are the days where your Hen’s Day had to consist of sashes, toilet-paper games and awkward lap dances (seriously dude… you’re not Channing Tatum).

If you’ve been given the honour of organising your bestie’s event, let me lend a helping hand with 4 unforgettable Hen’s Day event ideas!

Wine Tour
Who doesn’t love a winery! They’re even better when all you’ve got to do is hop on a bus and sip your day away! I’m kicking off my Hen’s Day inspo with a personalised wine tour as this is actually what my MOH organised for my Hen’s a few months ago.

Starting the day around 10:00am, we visited half a dozen wineries around the stunning Mornington Peninsula as well as some unique local finds such as a Chocolate Factory and Cidery. To top it off, our tour also included a multiple course lunch at the beautiful Epicurean in Red Hill (because ladies, this day requires carbs).

With a fabulous tour guide, bus singalongs, plenty of laughs and instagram opportunities, we all throughly enjoyed seeing the sights of the Peninsula as we celebrated.

Check out Wine Compass for more personalised wine tours (they cover the Yarra Valley too!).

Garden Party
Have yourself a girly, high-tea loving bride? Do I have the desintation for you!
Complete with pink walls, white picket fences, flower crowns and Pimms cups, Madame Brussels in the Melbourne CBD offers spectacular Garden Parties for their brides-to-be.

Enjoy your afternoon tea favourites such as scones, cucumber sandwiches and cupcakes with your Bride Tribe as you overlook the city on Madame Brussel’s rooftop terrace. They have a strict no tacky policy! Phew!

They also offer cocktail making classes in their “Parlour” which are great for smaller groups and are tonne of fun! I organised a cocktail making class for my bestie’s Hen’s Day last year and a few cocktails in.. we were definitely making our own recipes!

Healthy Hen

Let’s face it. Planning a wedding is incredibly stressful and by the time her Hen’s Day rolls around, your bride-to-be is well and truly in need of a recharge. If your Hen is more Pilates than Prosecco, why not plan a relaxing getaway to match?

Start your morning with a Yoga class followed by a healthy breakfast with the squad before hitting up the Peninsula Hot Springs for the day to unwind.

The Spa Dreaming Centre offers fabulous lunch packages for groups as well as plenty of facial and massage treatments to make her day the Ultimate Zen Event.

Dancing Queens

A Hen’s Day is a wonderful opportunity for the entire Bride Tribe to meet and bond before the big day! A great way to encourage this is to organise an activity everyone can experience together.

If your bride is anything like me and doesn’t even need music playing to hit the dance floor, then a retro dance class may be perfect!

Hoops, Thighs and Buttocks are located all around Melbourne and guarantee you’ll take a step back in time, maybe even pop on some lyrca and learn a choreographed dance routine as a group! From hula hooping, 80’s hip hop to 90’s pop, you can customise your dance experience and watch everyone channel their inner Madonna!
